Quyon wins 9-1 over Stittsville to win series

The Quyon Flyers won 9-1 over the Stittsville 56ers on Friday night in Shawville to take their Greater Ottawa Fastball League quarter-final series two games straight.

Trevor Lahey had the win for Quyon while Kyle Olson took the loss with relief from Luc D'Entremont.

Dave Hobbs scored the first run of the game in the bottom of the first inning - he walked, moved to second on a wild pitch and ended up scoring on a passed ball third strike.

The Flyers added another two runs in the bottom of the third. Matt Greer's double to right centre gap scored Hobbs and Nick Armitage who had both walked.

Stittsville got a run back in the fourth. Dan Jessiman singled, moved to second on a ground out and moved to third on an infield hit by Olson. Jessiman scored on a Scott Parsons single.

Quyon broke the game open in the fourth, scoring six runs. Lahey had a three run homer, Dennis McCleary had a solo shot. Armitage had an RBI triple and Lane McMurtry also had an RBI.

Quyon advances to the semi-finals, with their opponent to be determined.
