I4C Victory article

The following article appeared in the West Carleton Review Weekend sports section, May 5/06 page 13:

I4C Victory brings rivalry to fastball in West Carleton

There is a new team in town and it is bound to raise a rivalry in the Greater Ottawa Fastball League.

The club is new to the league this year along with a team out of Ottawa, the Ottawa Blitz. There are a number of players on the team that have experience playing competitive Junior fastball.

Greg MacMillan played for the National Junior team and is a strong hitter.

The new team has received great cooperation from the local community association through Geoff Lathem.

They are hoping that with the interest in minor ball in the community that some of those young players wil come out to watch the team play. The Carp community has a great history with fastball.

The team will play on Monday nights at 8:30pm beginning with the first home game on Monday, May 29th. I4C Victory hopes members of the community will stop by to see some great fastball and help support the team. Admission is free.

The team will play on the main diamond at the Carp Fairgrounds. The team plans on entering three tournaments this year including the ISC II Qualifier that will be hosted by league rival West Carleton Hanna Electric on June 16-18 in Fitzroy Harbour.

The other two tourneys will be the Dickinson Days Tournament in Manotick, June 2-4 and the Ottawa Blitz Tournament, July 21-23 at Carlington Park in Ottawa.

Is there an article about the 'Trics coming? What's the local fishwrap called? The Fitzroy Flyer? The Harbour Herald?

Of course there will be an indepth hard hitting article about the 'Trics.

The main papers in the area are of course the West Carleton Review and the West Carleton EMC, but there is also the Fitzroy Peeper which is an incisive investigative 2 paper paper produced monthly.
