Stittsville seals up first overall

Stittsville 56ers will finish the GOFL season in first place after an 11-6 victory over the Blitz last night at the Grove. Dan Bradley had the win.

In Quyon the Flyers won both of their matches to leapfrog up to third place. They can now finish no worse than fourth. Quyon edged Greely 4-3 in the opener and thumped Orleans 11-3 in the late game. Matt Greer had both pitching victories.

The Blitz will finish the season in sixth unless the Gators win 3 or more of their remaining 4 games. The Blitzos are the first team to complete their schedule and end the season with a very respectable 8-11-1 mark, improving over their 3-12-5 record from 2008.
