Quyon vs Easton at the ToC - UPDATED

Easton defeated CPI Classics by a score of 4-2 according to http://www.ballparkradio.com/, setting up a "round of 16" match up with Ottawa Team Easton vs Quyon Flyers at 11am Saturday morning.

Here are some details on the Easton 4-2 win:

- Brad Porter had the complete game win, allowing 7 hits, walking 4 and striking out 11.
- Jason Smith started for CPI and lasted only 4 batters. All four of these runners scored and were charged to Smitty. Jeff Murphy came in and pitched seven complete and allowed only two hits and striking out 16, but it was too late as the damage was done in the top of the first.
- Easton only had 3 hits in the game.
- Scott Herriot once again led off a game with a homer, his third of the tournament. (Surely Herry will get some "all star" consideration?) After that, Kevin Chevrier walked and took second, third and scored, all on wild pitches/passed balls. After Dan Jessiman and Kyle Jamieson both walked, Murph came in to pitch. Cory Morrison's single cashed the other two Easton runs. And that was it for Easton scoring!
- The only other hit for Easton was a double by Dan Bradley who was DH'ing for Porter.
- Both CPI runs came on wild pitches. The Classics stranded nine runners on base as Porter got out of several jams.
