Quyon wins game 1 - with details

Quyon took game 1 of their best-of-five series with the Blitz by a score of 6-1. Joran Graham had the complete game win for the Flyers, while Shannon Borho took the loss and had relief from Derrick Bulley.

The Blitz got on the board with a run in the bottom half of the 1st inning. Marcel Mondoux reached base on a strike-out passed ball and advanced to third when a ground ball was thrown away by the Flyers 3rd baseman. Mondoux would later score on a Derrick Bulley sacrifice fly. Graham then got out of the inning with two k’s.

The Flyers answered back in the top of the 3rd inning. Luke Young walked and advanced on Jordan Kearns’ SAC bunt that was misplayed by the Blitz 3rd baseman. Young proceeded to advance to 3rd on the play, and scored when the first baseman threw the ball away. After a strike out and pop out, Greer stroked a 2 RBI triple down the right field line. Greer would then score on a Graham RBI single to make the score 3-1 for Quyon.

Quyon added two more in the 5th. Shawn Laframboise reached on an error to the third baseman, and scored on Greer’s monster blast to left field to make it 5-1. Bulley then entered the game for Borho and got out of the inning with no further damage.

With two outs in the 6th, Quyon added its 6th run of the game. Curtis Daley came off the bench with a pinch hit line-drive single, and thought about 2nd before face-planting into the dirt rounding 1st base. Daley advanced to 3rd on a Laframboise single, and scored on Greer’s RBI single.
