Death of Jake Rouleau
John "Jake" Rouleau, 62, of Arnprior died yesterday. Jake was a former teammate of mine on the Arnprior Arrows fastball team back in the 90s. Jake's brothers Chris, Paul, Tim and Jeff all played fastball as well in the Arnprior league and Fitzroy leagues, and his brother Steve umpired fastball, as did Jake after he quit playing ball. Jake was also a minor and men's hockey referee in Arnprior for almost 30 years. Just a few weeks ago, Jake officiated some fast-paced 40+ hockey action in the league in which I play.
Jake leaves a widow and four sons, and plenty of extended family and friends. My condolences to the Rouleau family - Jake was a "good lad" as we say in the Ottawa Valley and will be missed.
