Rain puts an early end to OASA Masters Provincials
The 2017 Ontario Amateur Softball Association Masters Provincial championship in St. Clements ended up with co-winners in each division.
A torrential downpour Sunday afternoon rendered the fields unplayable late into the tournament.
In the 50+ Legends Division, Waterloo Legends and Waterdown Hammer Legends were declared co-winners.
In the Masters 40+ A division, Kitchener Bell Cartage and Wellington Sox were co-winners. In the Masters 40+ B Division, Whitby Spinmasters and St Thomas were declared co-winners. (Note: local entry West Carleton Electric finished the event at 0-4.)
Carl Boughner was the recipient of the Jack Cook sportsmanship award.
To all teams, volunteers and fans a heartfelt thank you.
