Quyon wins two on Thursday UPDATE: with details
The Quyon Flyers won two Greater Ottawa Fastball League games on Thursday in Carp.
Quyon 2 Valley 1
The first game saw the Flyers edge the Ottawa Valley As 2-1. Matt Greer got the win while Ben Broek took the loss.
Valley scored first. Clayton Vance walked, moved to second on a Ryley Burns walk, advanced to third on a passed ball. Then the speedy Vance was able to score on a sacrifice fly caught by the second baseman.
Quyon got their two runs in the sixth. Dennis McCleary reached on an error, moved to second on a sacrifice bunt. Greer was hit by a pitch to put two on. When Shawn Laframboise's comebacker deflected of Broek's glove, McCleary was able to score and Greer went to third. Nick Armitage then grounded out to score Greer for what proved to be the winning run.
Quyon 9 Kemptville 1
The night cap saw Quyon defeat the affiliate Kemptville Black Sox 9-1, with lefty Trevor Lahey picking up the win over rival lefty Will Lowe.
Armitage had three RBIs, and Lane McMurtry hit a two run homer for the Flyers.
