Kemptville and Stittsville win in Fitzroy
There were two doubleheaders worth of make up games scheduled in Fitzroy Harbour on Tuesday night in order to get some Greater Ottawa Fastball League games in the books. However, a big storm blew through around 8:40 pm, leaving the diamonds unplayable so only the early games were played.
Kemptville Black Sox 12 West Carleton Electric 5
The early game on A diamond saw the home town Electric get out to a 4-1 lead after two. However, the Black Sox sent 13 men to the plate in the top of the third, with three homers, and scored 10 runs. Will Lowe got the win while Matt McKay took the loss with relief from Steve Cavanagh.
Stittsville 56ers 3 Micksburg Twins 2
This game was in the bottom of the seventh when the monsoon rains blew in, ending the game. Micksburg had a solo homer from John Enright in the top of the seventh that tied the game at 3-3, but given the weather, it went back to the last complete inning and the 56ers were awarded the 3-2 victory. Chad Costello had a homer earlier in the game for the Twins. Kyle Olson was the winning pitcher and Enright was tagged with the loss.
