GOFL starts off in Manotick
The Greater Ottawa Fastball League season started off on Wednesday night in Manotick with a doubleheader.
Manotick 2 Orleans 2
The first game saw the Manotick Brewers and Orleans Rebels tie at 2-2. Andy Barber threw for Orleans. For Manotick both Cory Baldwin and Kody Blois pitched. Blois, a new player in the GOFL, is the Member of Parliament for Kings-Hants in Nova Scotia.
Orleans was leading 2-0 into the sixth, when Jack Becker's RBI double scored Tyler Branchaud who had singled. Becker was thrown out attempting to take third. Ryan Clare's solo homer tied the match at two.
Quyon 9 Osgoode 2
The second game of the doubleheader saw the Quyon Flyer defeat the Osgoode Chiefs 9-2 in six innings. Matt Greer earned the win while Matt McKay took the loss. Shawn Laframboise had a solo homer for the Flyers.
Note: the Kars - Micksburg game scheduled for Thursday has been postponed.
