Harbour Ball playoff round up

The Fitzroy Harbour Men's Fastball League playoffs continued on Wednesday night.

The Bren Electric (#3) vs. Baird Carpentry (#6) game one that was suspended due to the lights going out last week was resumed, and Bren won it 10-9 on a bases loaded walk in the bottom of the ninth. Subsequently game two of the series was played immediately after with Bren winning it 22-12 to advance to the semi-finals. Mark Wright and Steve Cavanagh threw for the Electricians while John Sullivan threw for Baird.

The other early game was a very well-played match, with Hicks Custom Interiors (#5) defeating Ottawa Valley Coffee (#4) 4-2 to take the series two straight. Adam Rueckwald threw for Hicks, while Sean Ryan and Cole Ross pitched for OVC.

The late games saw West Carleton U17 Rona (#1) defeat Campbell Fuels (#8) 7-1 to sweep their series and move to the semis.

The other late game had Clean Cut Construction (#7) stay alive in their series against Grandor Farms (#2) with a 12-8 win. Dave Bahm and Johnny Coe pitched for CCC while Gabe Brown and Owen Brown threw for Grandor.

The semi-final match ups depend on the results of the Clean Cut vs Grandor series.

If Clean Cut wins, they will face WC U17 Rona and Bren Electric will play Hicks in the other best-of-three semi-final.

If Grandor prevails, they will play Bren Electric and the U17s will face Hicks.

Plans as of now are for Game Three of the remaining quarter-final series to be played at 7 p.m. on Wednesday September 11 and the semi-finals to start immediately following at 9 p.m. that same night.
League officials are figuring out next week!
