Orleans wins in pitching duel

Info from Dan Dunbar

Orleans Rebels defeated Quyon Flyers 1-0 in nine innings in the first game of their best of three Greater Ottawa Fastball League semi-final series in Manotick on Wednesday night.

Andy Barber pitched for Orleans, striking 19 batters and allowing two hits. Drew Hathway threw for Quyon, striking out 17 and allowing only one hit. Cade Kuehl and Shawn Laframboise had the hits for Quyon.

After seven scoreless innings, Quyon loaded the bases in the top of the eighth but Barber got out of the jam.

With the international rule runner on second base in the bottom of the ninth, Kevin Shonfield got the Rebels only hit of the game, a walk off single for the win.
