WC edges Pontiac

West Carleton Electric got by the Pontiac Flyers by a score of 6-5 in Greater Ottawa Fastball League play in Shawville on Thursday night.

Adam Rueckwald had the complete game win for WC, while Drew Hathway took the loss in relief of Matt Greer.

Colton Lecuyer hit a home run for the 'Trics on the first pitch of the game to give West Carleton a 1-0 lead.

The Flyers evened the score in the third when Hunter Beauregard's triple scored Greer who had walked.

The visitors went ahead 2-1 in the top of the fourth. Bryce Rebertz doubled, moved to third on a ground out and scored on a dropped third strike when the throw went to first.

Pontiac jumped out to a 3-2 lead in the bottom of four on Evan Atkinson's two run shot which scored Steve McCord who had doubled.

It was a tied game at three in the top of the fifth  after Lecuyer doubled and was plated on a Trevor Barton single for West Carleton.

The top of seven saw the Trics put up three. Dylan Rorwick and Conner Hopper both singled. With runners on the corners, Hopper stole second and Rorwick scored on the throw. A single by Rebertz scored Hopper, and double by Gabe Brown scored Rebertz.

Pontiac replied with two runs to just fall short. Shawn Laframboise singled to start off, followed by a Dennis McCleary single. Laframboise advanced to third on a fly out, and scored on an infield single by Cade Kuehl. Another single by Todd Hearty scored a run, hit the game ended 6-5 for WC.
