Micksburg Fastball League Delivers Exciting Weekend of Championship Action - now with photos

The Micksburg Fastball League wrapped up an exciting weekend of playoff action, featuring competitive games, extra-inning drama, and outstanding performances on the diamond.

The day opened with a thrilling contest between the Gold Gloves and the Northstars. Fans were treated to an eight-inning battle that came right down to the wire, with the Gold Gloves emerging victorious by a score of 9-8. Joran Graham earned the win on the mound, while Joe Mick was tagged with the loss in the hard-fought matchup.

In the second game, the top-seeded Brewers squared off against the Gold Gloves. The Brewers showcased why they earned the number one seed, holding off a determined Gold Gloves squad to secure a 4-3 victory. Brendon Hennessy picked up the win, while Ryan Clarke took the loss.

Game three featured a showdown between the second-seeded Eagles and the third-seeded Seniors. The Eagles put together a strong all-around performance and advanced with a convincing 7-2 win. Drew Hathaway earned the victory, while John Enright was credited with the loss.

Unfortunately, following the third game, Mother Nature had other plans. Inclement weather forced organizers to halt the remainder of the day's festivities, and the decision was made to postpone the championship final until Monday, August 3.

Despite the weather interruption, the weekend showcased the skill, determination, and competitive spirit that make the Micksburg Fastball League a highlight of the summer season, Giving Fans a game look forward to an exciting conclusion when the championship game that took place on Monday.

Eagles Capture Micksburg Fastball League Championship

The No. 1 seed Brewers and No. 2 seed Eagles squared off on Monday afternoon in Micksburg, with a large crowd on hand to watch the Micksburg Fastball League Championship Final.

The Eagles struck first in the top of the second inning when Liam McHale launched a solo home run to give his team an early 1-0 lead.

The Eagles added to their advantage in the third inning. Danny McGrath led off with a double and advanced to third on a wild pitch. Following a hit-by-pitch to Jeff Cull, the Eagles' offense continued to roll. RBI singles from Matt McIntyre and Joel Corbin, along with a sacrifice fly from Drew Hathaway, extended the Eagles' lead to 4-0.

The Eagles put the game out of reach in the fifth inning. Andy McIntyre reached base on an infield single and later scored following a throwing error on an attempted play at second base, making it 5-0. After Matt McIntyre was hit by a pitch, Drew Hathaway drove in another run with an RBI double. Hathaway would later cross the plate on a throwing error following a dropped third strike, pushing the Eagles' lead to 7-0.

On the mound, Drew Hathaway was dominant, shutting down the Brewers' offense and securing the victory. With the win, the Eagles claimed the 2026 Micksburg Fastball League Championship, capping off an impressive playoff run and a memorable season.

The championship game provided a fitting conclusion to another outstanding season of Micksburg Fastball, with players, volunteers, and fans coming together to celebrate the community's passion for the sport. 🏆🥎
