Québec and Ontario 1 - 2 at CSG
Team Québec and Team Ontario are atop the standings for Men's Softball at the Canada Summer Games in St. John's, NL after play on Thursday.
Québec won their first game of the day 1-0 in tight game over Nova Scotia. Cade Kuehl had one of Team Q's three hits and had a walk as well.
Ontario played two early and won both big: 12-0 over Newfoundland and Labrador and 12-2 over Alberta. Conner Hopper had 3 RBIs in the Alberta game.
The final game of the day for both teams was an ON vs QC match up with both teams going in undefeated. Québec prevailed 6-5 with a bases loaded single in the bottom of the seventh to win. Hunter Beauregard was 3 for 4 and had a key RBI for Québec. Kuehl also had an RBI.
This meant Québec finished the day with five wins and no losses in first place, with three games to play on Friday vs Alberta, New Brunswick and British Columbia. Ontario was in second with four wins and a loss, with games versus Saskatchewan, Manitoba and B.C.
