Let the games begin

Fitzroy Harbour West Carleton Electric took the boat over to Quyon to face the Flyers in a pre-season tune up on Sunday afternoon.

The end result, played in front of about 50 faithful fans, was a 2-2 draw after 7 innings.

Mark Wright and Brad Porter threw for the Harbour, while Matt Greer and Luke Young pitched for Quyon.

Catcher Steve "Beef" Johnson provided all the runs for Fitzroy with a 2 run homer in the second inning.

Matt Greer hit a towering shot to centre field for Quyon and catcher Joe McCleary also hit a solo HR out to tie the game.

There were only 7 hits in the game, including the three homers.

The teams hope to hook up for a rematch in Fitzroy Harbour sometime later in the season.
