Easton sweeps I4C - now with details

from Cory Morrison

Easton tops Carp 5-1 on a humid and foggy night at the grove to make it to the GOFL finals. Dan Konkle got the win for Easton while Neil Cooke suffered the loss. The game was scoreless through the first 3 innings as Cooke and Konkle engaged in a piching duel.

Carp opened the scoring in the 4th a Tim Power led off with a solo shot to right field. Kevin Mcguire followed that up with a double but Konkle was able to settle down and get out of the inning without any futher damage.

Easton tied the score in their half of the 4th as Cory Morrison led off with a single then advanced to 2nd on a pass ball. Dave Tubman then singled to score Morrison. Easton would take the lead for good in the 5th as Kyle Olson singled then Chad Milne hit a one hopper to 3rd. The throw to second to get Olson sailed wide and both runners were safe. After a pass ball put runners at 2nd and 3rd Kevin Chevrier hit a chopper over the mound that eluded Cooke and both runners scored. Randy Peck doubled to the gap in left-center to score Chevrier and put the home side up 4-1.

Dan Konkle homered in the 6th to cap the scoring at 5-1.
