Softball on ESPN / TSN

This weekend ESPN/TSN gave some exposure to softball. They showed a women's fastpitch game from the KFC Women's World Cup, which is great. (I wonder if every team gets a wee snack of 'dirty bird' KFC post-game. Yummy!)

However, the men's game TSN and ESPN showed was the some cheezy "border battle" between the US and Canadian men's slo-pitch teams. Yeah, apparently we have a national slo-pitch team.

Final score, USA 30, Canada 23. Seriously. What a joke - as astute readers know, the ISF World Fastpitch championship is underway in Saskatoon. (Canada is currently 4-0, as are the defending champs, the Kiwis.). Instead they show slo-pitch.

This is why when you tell someone who has no clue that you play competitive softball, they kind of smile and "say good for you".

This guy has some pretty funny takes on the game.
