Stittsville comes back to beat Greely, take series

The Stittsville 56ers had to score in the seventh to defeat the Greely Eagles 3-1 in GOFL playoff action on Monday night in North Gower in a fast-paced game.

Greely was one out away from the upset as they had two Stittsville outs with the bases loaded in top of the seventh and a 1-0 lead. Dan Jessiman's 3 RBI triple was the difference maker to give Stittsville the win and take the series 2 games straight.

The Eagles had scored their run in the first inning as TJ Jones plated on an Anil Hayne RBI single.

Darren Featherstone had the win for Stittsville while Ryan Chatten took the loss.

Next up for GOFL action on Thursday is the final game in the Quyon / Blitz series at Quyon at 8pm and Game 2 of the Manotick / Carp series (I4C leads 1-0).

If Quyon wins their series, they will face Team Easton in the semis, with the winner of the of the Manotick/Carp series to face Stittsville.

If the Ottawa Blitz win their series, they will face Stittsville in the semis, with the winner of the Printers vs I4C facing Team Easton.
