Kars edge Carp 5-4

Kars held on to edge Carp 5-4 on a wet Wednesday night at the Grove.

Brad Porter got the win while Dan Konkle took the loss with relief from Kyle Olson.

Carp scored 3 runs in the first when Kristian Knapp walked, Brad Pender reached on error, Chad Milne singled to score Knapp, runners advanced on a passed ball, Cory Morrison grounded out to score Pender, then Milne scored on a wild pitch.

Carp responded with a single run in the 3rd virtue of back to back double by Konkle and Eric Colvin then cut the lead to 3-2 in 5th when Brooks Paziuk hit an rbi single.

The Aces restored their 3-run in the bottom of 5th when Brad Pender led off with a single, stole 2nd and 3rd then scored on a wild pitch. Chad Milne followed with an infield single, stole 2nd, and scored on Curtis Summer's rbi single.

I4C cut the lead to one in the 6th as Eric Colvin singled with the based loaded to cash two runs. Brad Porter retired the side in order in the 7th to secure the win.
