Carp I4C Victory won in a big way in Game 1 of their playoffs series against the Ottawa Blitz, by a 19-0 score in five innings on Wednesday night in Manotick.
Frank Cox was the winning pitcher, perfect over 5 innings, throwing 11 strikeouts to catcher Al Read. Jamie Blakely took the loss for the Blitz with relief from Derek Bergeron.
Victory put 11 runs across the plate in the top of the fifth. Kevin McGuire was a double short of the cycle and had 6 RBIs for Carp.
The Blitz will attempt to rebound in Game 2 tonight at 8:30 in Carp.
