GeeGees Ladies Softball update
from Michelle Maheu
Dressed in pink for Breast Cancer Awareness, the GeeGees gave it all they had last weekend and pulled off 4 big wins against York and Queens in this year’s final regular season games.
The first game against York fell to a tiebreaker that ended with rookie Taylor Rogalsky parking it for the winning run in the 9th inning. With scores of 5-4 and 5-3 in favor of Ottawa, the GeeGees slept well Friday night and woke early the next day to beat Queen’s 7-0 and 3-1 for a great start to Thanksgiving Weekend.
Despite those four wins, Ottawa fell just short of the top 6 spot, putting them in the play-in tournament in Brampton this weekend to qualify for the Provincials next weekend at McMaster University.
