Fitzroy Junior away at a sleepover, Mrs Fastball away shopping, leaving the Caveman and I at home to watch some NHL playoff hockey together. Boston vs Montreal on TV.

Caveman: "Daddy, my favourite player is P.K. Subban."

Me: "Well, he is a pretty good player."

Caveman: "Daddy, people in the old days were mean."

Me: "Why do you say that?"

Caveman: "In the old days they wouldn't let Subban play because he's a brown guy."
