Williamsburg Sunday results - Team Quebec wins the tourney in the "if game"

Team Quebec 6 Williamsburg Cigars 1

Team Quebec advanced to the tournament final with a 6-1 win over the host Cigars in the undefeated game. Francis Leclair had the win with relief from Mathieu Roy. Jeff Murphy took the loss.

Ottawa Blitz 2 Ed Taylor's Shamrocks 0

The Blitzos eliminated the Shamrocks with a 2-0 victory to advance to the loser's bracket final against Williamsburg. Derick Bulley had the win for Ottawa while Gregg Garrity took the loss for Taylor's. Scott Parsons was 2 for 3 with and RBI and Bulley had a triple to cash the other RBI for the Blitz.

Williamsburg Cigars 5 Ottawa Blitz 2

Cory Alkerton had the win for the Cigars, with relief from Jeff Murphy. Jamie Blakely took the loss and had relief from Derick Bulley. The difference in the game was a Kristian Knapp 3 run shot in the 4th inning for the Cigars. The Blitz stranded 11 runners on base.

FINALS: Williamsburg Cigars 11 Team Quebec 5

Williamsburg won the first game of the final to set up the "if necessary" game with a big 11-5 victory to hand Team Quebec their first loss. Jason Smith had the win on the slab, while Francis Leclair took the loss with relief from Mathieu Roy. This sets up the game for title.

IF GAME: Team Quebec 11 Williamsburg Cigars 6

Team Quebec from Donnacona, QC won the 8th Annual Williamsburg tournament taking the "if game" of the 7 team double knockout event with a 11-6 over the host Williamsburg Cigars which assemble once a year for this tourney.

Mathieu Roy was the winning pitcher for the Quebeckers and had relief from Luc Thibault. Jeff Murphy took the loss and had relief from Cory Alkerton.

Jonathan Darveau and Mathieu Lessard had homeruns for Team Quebec, while Danny Powers hit one out for the hosts.

1st place: $700 Team Quebec (Donnacona, QC) 4-1
2nd place: $400 Williamsburg Cigars (host) 4-2
3rd place: Ottawa Blitz 2-2
4th place: Ed Taylor's Shamrocks 2-2
5th place: Barrhaven Broadway Blues 1-2
6th place (tie): Napanee Shoeless Joe Juniors 0-2 / Cree Nation Fireballs 0-2
