GOFL Preview Week #9
The GOFL has a busy week in Week #9, with a total of 7 games on the schedule.
Due to a few changes in the schedule, the Ottawa Blitz (5-7) are playing the West Carleton Electric (4-4) for third game in a row - this week the game will be Monday at 8:30 in Fitzroy Harbour. The Blitz have won the last two games.
On Tuesday, there is a doubleheader in North Gower, as Kars Aces (3-3) and Barrhaven Broadway Blues (4-4-1) will play a double dip at 7pm and 9pm.
Barrhaven is back at it again on Wednesday night at the Grove, visiting the Stittsville 56ers (3-5) at 8:30pm.
A scheduling change now has the Thursday night doubleheader in Carp looking a bit differently. At 7pm, the Kars Aces will be the home team to face the Stittsville 56ers in a game that was postponed from June 14. Following that at 9pm, Carp I4C Victory (4-5) will re-play the 56ers in their game that was rained out in Week 8.
Ending the week on Friday will be the Canada Day showdown in Fitzroy Harbour at 4pm with WC Electric hosting the Quyon Combat Flyers (5-0-1). This will be part of the annual Harbour Days summer festival. Prior to the GOFL game, there will be a game at 2pm featuring the Ottawa Valley Heat Midget team based out of Fitzroy Harbour and the Fitzroy Men's League "All-stars". Beer tent, Fitzroy Beef Burgers specially prepared by Bud Hanlon, activities for the kids and fireworks to follow that evening as part of the celebration. Come out to Harbour Days 2011 and don't forget to pick up your souvenir fastball program.
