Friday night at the GOFL Final Weekend Showdown

Friday night at the GOFL Final Weekend Showdown tournament in Quyon featured two games.

Quyon Combat Flyers 7 Ottawa Blitz 0

In the opener, the host Quyon team prevailed 7-0 over the Ottawa Blitz in 5 innings. Drew Hathway had the win with a one hitter, while Jamie Blakely took the loss with relief from Shannon Borho.

Joran Graham was 2 for 3 with a single and a double, scoring two runs. Drew Hathway had two doubles, two RIBis and scored a run. Nick Armitage was 2-3 with two runs scored and an RBI and Luke Young was 1-2 with a walk, a run scored, and the game ending RBI.

Kars Aces 4 Barrhaven Broadway Blues 0

The nightcap saw the Kars Aces score early and hold on for a 4-0 win over Barrhaven. Steve Price had the win, allowing only three hits and striking out an incredible 22 batters (two men reached on passed balls). Trevor Lahey took the loss, while Paul Ceppi came in to relieve.

Kars was led by Price who hit a solo home run in the first and Dave Tubman who hit a two run homer in the second.

Saturday games will see Kars vs Quyon and Barrhaven vs Blitz.
