Kars Aces advance with Game 5 win - with deets

The Kars Aces advanced the GOFL Final Weekend Showdown with a 9-1 win in five innings on Wednesday night in Carp over the Stittsville 56ers. This game the Aces a three games to two series win.
Corey Costello had the win allowing only two hits and 14 strikeouts over five innings of work and the run was unearned. Darren Featherstone took the loss allowing ten hits and striking out six.
The Aces went out to a 3-0 lead in the first and didn't look back. Brad Pender walked and stole second. Corey Costello singled to to score Pender. Cory Morrison doubled to put runnders on 2nd & 3rd and after Milne walked to load the bases, Scott Marion singled to score Costello while Morrison was out after getting caught in a run down. Milne then scored on a passed ball.
In the second inning, Matt Alkerton tripled to lead off for Kars and scored on Chad Costello's fielder's choice. Pender then reached on an error, stole second, and scored on Kristian Knapp's single. When Morrison doubled to score Knapp, Kars was up 6-0.
The 56ers responded in the third. Featherstone reached on an error and took second on a passed ball and later scored on a dropped ball in the outfield.
Howvever in the bottom of the frame, Scott Marion and Corey Alkerton hit back to back solo shots to put Kars up 8-1.
The scoring finished off in the bottom of the fourth. Knapp was on first and Corey Costello doubled to round out the scoring at 9-1.
