Wingers defeat Hitmen in New Edinburgh league playoff final
The four-team New Edinburgh Men's Fastball league wrapped things up with a season ending double knockout tournament this Saturday at Stanley Park in Ottawa.
The Wingers went undefeated to reach the final, while the Hitmen, having lost their first game had to come up the losers' side to reach the final.
The Hitmen won the first game, but lost the "if necessary" game 10-3 and the Wingers clinched the title. Jason Smith had the pitching win, while Art Henry threw all four games on Saturday for the Hitmen.
