Kars beats Quyon 9-7 - with details

The Kars Aces spoiled the Quyon Combat Flyers home opener with a 9-7 win on the Quebec side.

Kars staked out a 4-0 margin on Quyon starter Joran Graham after two and half innings, courtesy of homeruns by Cory Alkerton an Chad Milne.

Shawn Laframboise hit a 2 run shot in bottom of 3 for Quyon to make it 4-2. Matt Greer came in to pitch for Quyon in the fourth and stopped Kars from scoring. Quyon scored three more in the bottom of 4 to go up 5-4. The Flyers added two more in the sixth thanks to a Graham RBI single to make it 7-4 for the home team.

However, the Aces scored five in the top of the seventh to go up 9-7, including two 2-run homers by Cory Morrison and Dan Powers.

Brad Pender made a diving catch with two out and one on in the bottom of 7 to end the game 9-7 in favour of Kars.

Corey Alkerton had the complete game win for Kars, while Greer took the loss in relief of Graham for Quyon. 

Shawn Laframboise is the "Caveman's Choice" as player of the game, with three hits for Quyon including a two run homer.
