Manotick Taylor's Blitz won their final game of the season with a 2-1 squeaker over the Barrhaven Broadway Blues in Manotick on Wednesday night GOFL play.
Jamie Blakely had the win while Trevor Lahey took the loss.
The Blues got on the board in the first inning. Aaron Amo blooped a base hit over second based and was moved over by a Kevin Shonfield sac but. Don Cox's fly out moved Amo to third, and he scored on Trevor Power's single to make it 1-0 for Barrhaven.
With player of the game Blakely keeping Barrhaven off the scoreboard, Manotick scored the only two runs they needed for the win in the sixth. Matt Bowman lead off with a double. Derick Bulley then walked. Jon Ferguson's single scored Bowman. Lahey got the next two batters to strikeout out Tony Searle was then inserted in the lineup to pinch hit, and he was intentionally walked to load the bases. A walk to Ryan Mitts when brought in the game winning run.
The Blitzos finish the season with 15 points and will finish fifth or sixth, depending on how Quyon does in their remaining two games. Barrhaven has one game left to make up against Micksburg.
