Stittsville 9 Kanata 5 UPDATED with details
The Stittsville 56ers defeated the Kanata Pirates 9-5 in Greater Ottawa Fastball League play in Carp on Thursday night.
Dan Konkle got the win for Stittsville. Trevor Lahey took the loss, with relief from Jason Smith.

Stittsville 56ers stretched their lead over the second place Kanata Pirates with a big 9-5 win on Thursday night at the Carp Fairgrounds. Dan Konkle started for the 56ers and Trevor Lahey started for the Pirates.
The 56ers scored 2 runs in the top of the first when Tyler Nystedt worked a walk to lead off the game. He then scored when Ryan Bond followed with a double. Later Dan Jessiman knocked in Bond with a triple. The Pirates came right back with 3 runs of their own in the bottom of the first inning. Kevin Schonfeld led of the game for the Pirates with a double. Lindsay Medynsky knocked him in when he followed with a single. Later Trevor Power hit a league leading 5th homerun of the season to plate two more runs for the Pirates.
The Pirates added to their lead in the bottom of the second when Jordan Adams walked and circled the bases on a series of wild pitches even though Konkle struck out the side.
The 56ers took the lead with 3 runs in the top of the third inning. Ryan Bond and Scott Herriott started the inning with singles. Then Dan Jessiman reached first base on an error and Bond scored. Dan Bradley followed with a single to knock in Herriott. Later in the inning, with bases loaded Ben Gigliotti knocked in Dan Jessiman with single. The Pirates finally got out of the inning with a double play. After 3 innings, the 56ers led 5-4.
The 56ers stretched their lead in the fourth inning with two more runs. Tyler Nystedt and Ryan Bond singled. Jason Smith came in to pitch for the Pirates and Scott Herriott welcomed him into the game by hitting a double, knocking in Nystedt and Bond. After 4 innings, 56ers led 7-4.
The Pirates got one back in the bottom of the fifth. Lindsay Medyndky hit a one out double and was knocked in when Tony MacDonald followed with a single.
The 56ers finished the scoring with 2 runs in the top of the seventh. Dan Knokle and Darren Ladouceur walked and Tyler Nystedt reached first base on a fielder's choice. Then after Ryan Bond singled for his fourth hit of the game, Scott Herriott knocked in Ladouceur and Nystedt with two out single. Konkle held the Pirates scoreless in the bottom of the seventh and the final score was 56ers 9 Pirates 5.
The caveman player of the game was Ryan Bond who went 4 for 4 with 2 runs scored and an RBI. Honourable mention goes to Scott Herriott who went 3 for 4 with 4 RBIs.
