Kars Aces beat West Carleton Electric 6-3
The Kars Aces defeated West Carleton Electric 6-3 in the Greater Ottawa Fastball League playoff game in Fitzroy Harbour on Wednesday night. The Electric now lead the best of five series two games to one.
Brad Porter had the win, while Andy Barber took the loss.
For the first time in the series, the long ball was a factor as there were five home runs in the game.
West Carleton loaded the bases in the first on three walks but were unable to get a run.
The Electric scored the games first run in the second inning. Steve Cavanagh singled, moved to second on a sacrifice bunt by Neil Murphy and scored on Dave Bahm's RBI double.
Kars answered in the third inning. Porter walked with one out and scored on Kristian Knapp's home run to make it 2-1 Aces.
Kars added another run in the fourth. Lukas Kamps walked and moved to second base on a wild pitch. He scored on Knapp's RBI single.
A solo shot by Jon Daley for West Carleton in the fifth made it 3-2, and another sol shot, this time by Neil Murphy in the sixth evened the game at 3.
The Aces however added three to seal the win in the seventh. Knapp lead off the inning with a solo homer to seal the Caveman's Choice as player of the game. Chad Milne's two run shot later in the inning made it 6-3.
In the bottom of the seventh, the Electric had a man on and two out.....and the timer on the lights tripped and the lights went out. After a fifteen minute delay to turn the lights back on, Porter ended the game by getting a ground out.
Game four will be Monday September 8 at 8:30 pm in Manotick.
