Tournament results this past weekend

As mentioned in a previous post, there were several tournaments this past weekend with local interest. Here are some of the results:

Bellechasse International Tournament
Team USA won the title at the four team event in St-Gervais, Quebec, beating Scarborough in the final. Wrap up on Al's Fastball.

Jim Bradford - Neil Cane Tournament
On the Intermediate / Junior side, the Orleans Rebels entry went 1-2, losing to the Stratford Juniors and Oshawa Juniors, and defeating Pickering. No word yet on who won the event, but according to Twitter, the finals were between Curve Lake and the Stratford Juniors. On the Masters side, according to Twitter, the Cobourg Force won.

ISC Canada East Qualifier
This eleven team event in Springfield, Ontario was rained out, but the top four finishers were declared: 1. Waterdown Hammer; 2. Great Lakes Pirates; T3 Kitchener Cubs and Wiarton Nationals. Full details on Al's Fastball. Kingston Axemen went 0-2.

Glen Cairn Men's Fastball Tournament
This ten team tournament for the Kanata men's league was held in Carp. A-side champions were Laurysen Kitchens over Blackburn Bulldogs, with Matt McIntyre the winning chucker over Will Lowe. The consolation side saw Ottawa Home Services defeat the Stittsville Midgets.

Applebee's Olean Men's Fastpitch Tournament
This six team event was won by the Bedford Rays over the New York Bombers in the final. The ESA Merchants from Elkland, PA lost in the semi-finals.

Napanee Combo Classic
In the Mites U10 division, the West Carleton boys won their first two games over Napanee Express and Springbrook Royals, then lost in the A-final to Napanee Spuds. The Caveman had two wins on the slab for WC, including three innings of no-hit ball against the Royals. In the Peewee U14 division, the West Carleton/Micksburg combo team entered finished 0-4.
