Beauregard Bunker in Orleans

This "Commemorative Naming Proposal" is scheduled to be confirmed at Ottawa City Council tomorrow:

In recognition of Lise and Bernie Beauregard’s extensive community service, the City of Ottawa has been asked to name the fieldhouse at Pierre Rocque Park, located at 1257 Joseph Drouin Avenue, the Beauregard Bunker.

Lise and Bernie Beauregard have been stalwart supporters and volunteers with the Orléans Amateur Fastball Association (OAFA) since its inception in 1976. They joined the OAFA Board in 1976 and held numerous board positions from 1976 to 2002. They introduced and coached a competitive program from 1976 to 2002, hosted provincial tournaments from 1986 to 2009, lobbied the City for better fields and facilities, coached and organized teams to 15 provincial championships from 1995 to 2009, and have received numerous awards for their volunteerism.
