Job Opportunity:
Executive Director, Softball Ontario

Position Type - Full time

Location – Toronto – 3 Concorde Gate, Toronto, M3C 3N7

Softball Ontario is the provincial sport organization governing the sport of Softball.  Softball Ontario is a council organization and its goal is to promote and develop the sport of softball for its athletes, officials and volunteers by providing program and services at all levels of competition.

The Executive Director will be responsible for the overall management, operation and leadership at Softball Ontario.

Responsibilities include:
  • Overall office administration, including financial management and human resources
  • Strategic and Operational planning and development  
  • Liaison with National Association, applicable government Ministries and Member Associations
  • Report to the Board of Directors and oversee implementation of programs, plans and policies
  • Marketing and promotion
  • Risk Management
  • Prepare Association’s funding applications
  • Manage Association’s Scorekeeping Program
 Qualifications:
  • Degree or Diploma in Sports Administration or related field or equivalent experiences
  • Experience working with volunteer Boards and a good understanding of not-for-profit governance
  • Experienced office administrator and management of personnel
  • Knowledge of the Ontario and Canadian Sport system and CS4L
  • Financial capabilities, including creation and management of budgets and basic bookkeeping
  • Experience writing funding applications and reports, would be an asset
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Working knowledge of softball
  • Willing to work evenings and week-ends as required
  • Willing to travel occasionally and must have a valid driver’s licence
