Kars Aces and I4C started their best of 5 playoff series last night in Manotick. Brad Porter had the ball for Kars and Andrew Putnam for I4C.

After a scoreless first, I4C got on the board in the second. Andrew Putnam lead off the inning with a home run to centerfield. Chris MacFarlane then tripled to left field and was scored on a single by Adam Fleming.

Kars threatened in the 4th with two outs. Cory Morrison singled and Nick Ellis walked. Putnam got the next batters to pop up and strikeout to end the inning.

I4C added a run in the 6th. Putnam started it with a single that was misplayed in the outfield allowing him to hustle around to third base. Trevor Watts scored him with a line drive to right that just got under the fielder's glove allowing Putnam to score and Watts to end up on third. Porter got out of the inning with a strikeout.

Kars rallied in the 6th. Morrison lead off with a sharply hit grounder to shortstop that got past the I4C defense. Ellis then reached on an error and the runners moved up on a passed ball. Kyle Gourgon walked to load the bases with none out. Putnam was able to strikeout the next 3 batters to end the inning.

No runs were scored in the 7th and I4C was able to start the series with a 3-0 win. Andrew Putnam had the win with 16 Ks and Brad Porter took the loss striking out 8.
