Micksburg wins 3-0 over West Carleton

The Micksburg Twins won the Greater Ottawa Fastball League Final Four playoff game on Monday night in Fitzroy Harbour by a score of 3-0 over West Carleton Electric.

Corey Costello had the complete game win, allowing only three hits and striking out thirteen. Andy Barber threw well in taking the loss for WC.

The Twins scored one in first. Matt McIntrye led of with a double off the fence, just missing his first career home run. Jamey Mick's hard come backer to the pitcher looked like McIntyre might be thrown out at third, but he slid under the tag and Mick reached on the fielder's choice. A walk to Joran Graham loaded the bases with none out. Corey Costello then hit a sacrifice fly to right centre that scored McIntyre. Barber got out of the jam with a strike out and a pop up.

The game remained at 1-0 until the fifth. Mick started things with a single and pinch runner Andrew McIntyre stole second. Graham then walked. A misplayed ground from Corey Costello loaded the bases. A walk to Chad Costello scored Andy Mac. After a fielder's choice erased a runner at the plate, followed by a fly out to centre, another walk, this time to Connor Moss scored another run.
