Stittsville wins 7-1 over West Carleton

The Stittsville 56ers won 7-1 on Tuesday night in Greater Ottawa Fastball League action in Fitzroy Harbour.

Luc D'Entremont had the win, spinning a two hitter. Matt McKay took the loss with relief from Steve Cavanagh.

Stittsville scored all their runs in the first two innings.

In the first, Dan and Scott Jessiman both walked with two out. A single by Jamie O'Hare scored one run and single by Scott Muir scored another two.

The second inning saw another two-out rally for the 56ers. D'Entremont and Dan Jessiman, who had both walked, advanced a base and scored on Scott Jessiman's single. O'Hare singled, and Johnny Craig drove in two with a triple to put the visitors up 7-0 after one and a half.

Fitzroy answered with a run in the bottom of the second. Steve Cavanagh singled to start the inning. After a strike out, Mitch Taylor walked. McKay then reached on an error to load the bases with one out. Adam Brown's fielder's choice (which saw McKay put out) scored SCav for the Electric's only run of the night.

For the remainder of the game, West Carleton did not manage another hit against D'Entremont. Steve Cavanagh threw four innings in relief for the home team, allowing only three hits and no runs.
