Carp hosts successful U19 Elimination tournament
The West Carleton Amateur Sports Club hosted a very successful Ontario Amateur Softball Association U19 Men's Elimination tournament this past weekend.
Despite some challenging weather on Friday night and Saturday afternoon the organizing committee and volunteers did an excellent job ensuring that while the schedule had to be delayed, the diamonds were made playable and the tournament was completed. OASA officials were very pleased with the outcome of the event.
Kitchener-Waterloo Hallman Twins went undefeated to take the title, beating the Belmore Sting in the final. Napanee finished third.
Fitzroy Junior's Osgoode Chiefs team went 1-2, with a win over Tara and losses to Napanee and Tavistock.
The organizing group has their sites set on applying to host an even bigger fastball tournament in 2020.
