Glen Cairn Men's Fastball League final game September 29

The Glen Cairn Men's Fastball League Championship Game is next week on September 29 at 7:30 p.m. with Don Cherry's playing Wild Wings.

In the first semi-final game played last night, the #4 seed Don Cherry's upset #1 seed Desjardins by a score of 9-3. Winning pitcher was Matt McKay, losing pitcher was Luc D'Entremont. Wilmer Lovera and Tim Ryan had homers for Don Cherry's.

The second semi-final game also played last night saw #3 seed Wild Wings get by #2 Upper Canada Elevators 8-5. Winning pitcher was Kevin Daize, with relief from Aaron Amo and the losing pitcher Matt Cox.

I umpired with Ted for a number of years and he will be missed dearly by his peers. He was one of the best who always was there to back his umpire mates. He promoted respect and knew how to deliver. R.I.P. Teddy!
