Napanee finishes second at U16 Elims
The Napanee Express finished second with a 4-2 record at the Ontario Amateur Softball Association U16 Elimination tournament this past long weekend in Cambridge, losing to the Wilmot Thunder in the final. Gavin Brooks threw a no hitter and a one hitter during the weekend.
The Express secured their spot at the Eastern Canadian Softball Championship in Fredericton, New Brunswick as there are no Canadian championships this year and will also be at the U16 Provincial A tournament in Drumbo.
West Carleton Junior Electric also participated in the event, losing both games, including their first to Napanee. Their only hit of that game was an inside the park home run by Zach Branchaud. WC will participate at the end of the month in the U16 Provincial B event in Princeton.
