Twins and As win on Thursday - updated

The Micksburg Twins and the Ottawa Valley As were winners at the Greater Ottawa Fastball League doubleheader in Shawville on Thursday night.

Game 1 - Micksburg 3 Quyon 0

Micksburg won the early game 3-0 over the Quyon Flyers. Starter Joran Graham had win, with Noah Fleurie earning the save, coming in for the sixth inning. Matt McIntyre hit a home run for the Twins. Matt Greer took the loss for the Flyers.

Game 2 - Valley 7 Quyon 6

The late game saw the Ottawa Valley As overcome a 6-4 deficit in the seventh to comeback and win 7-6 over Quyon. Ben Broek earned the pitching win for Valley, while Greer threw again for the home team.

A's opened up scoring in the first inning after a double by Clayton Vance, and a sac fly by Broek. A's added two more in the third with Ben Wade and Clayton Vance scoring. Quyon responded with a HR by Lane McMurtry in the third. 

In the 4th Quyon batted around and scored three  to take the lead 4-3. Each team would score one in the fifth, but Quyon added another in the 6th to take a two-run lead.

In the top of 7, A's up to bat, runners on 2nd and 3rd, Broek hit a single to score 1, followed by Ryley Burns hitting a two- RBI single into the gap.

Quyon would press in the bottom of 7 with bases loaded, but no runs scored.
