GOFL game reports from Saturday in Shawville

The Shawville R.A. hosted three Greater Ottawa Fastball League make up games on Saturday. The hot day at the park saw each partipating team - Quyon Flyers, Micksburg Twins and Kars Aces - come away with a win apiece, all one run games.

The early game saw the Flyers walk off the Twins in the bottom of the seventh to win 8-7 as 16 year old Hunter Beauregard clubbed a double to win it. Trevor Lahey had the win for Quyon while John Enright took the loss in relief of Noah Fleurie.

Jared Steege and new father Matt McIntyre hit home runs for Micksburg. Dennis McCleary hit a homer for the Flyers, as did Steve McCord, a present for wife Lynn Kearns' birthday.

The second game of the day was a much lower scoring affair as Micksburg prevailed 2-1 over the Kars Aces. Joran Graham had the win, tossing a two hitter while Brad Porter took the loss.

Matt McIntyre hit another home run in this one and also drove in cousin Andy McIntyre (who had doubled with two out) with a walk off smash off the fence in the seventh inning to win the game. Kristian Knapp had the lone RBI for Kars.

The final game of the day was another 2-1 game, this time with Kars squeaking by Quyon. Porter got the win while Lahey took the loss. Both veteran pitchers threw 14 innings on a hot day. Danny Powers had a homer for Kars in this one.
