North Leeds league & playoff update

This past Thursday Lyn (defending champs) defeated Westport 13-1 to clinch a 1st round bye in the North Leeds Men's Fastball League playoffs.

Carley Shane of Lyn is the regular season strikeout leader with 80Ks in 54 innings. He will receive his Strikeout leader case of beer sponsored by the North Augusta Trappers.  

Honourable mention to Innings pitched leader Jeremy Renkema of Eastons Corners Haymakers, who tossed 63.1 of a possible 75 innings on the season with 52 Ks.

The Bud Light homerun trophy goes to Travis Wing of the Lyn Lightning and Jared Fenlong of Greenbush who each hit 6 long balls.

Honourable mention to Andrew Wiggins of Eastons Corners A’s hitting 5 long balls and finishing 2nd in strikeouts thrown by pitchers for the season. Defending champ Brad Marion hit 2 long balls playing as a spare for North Augusta (defunct Spencerville).

Playoffs Game 1 - Tuesday August 16th

2nd place Westport hosts 7th place Eastons Corners A’s at 8pm 

3rd place host 6th place Eastons Corners Haymakers at 8pm

4th place Maitland Marlins home to 5th Place Greenbush Generals at 8pm 

Playoffs Game 2 - Thursday August 18th

Maitland @ greenbush 8pm Doubleheader in Eastons Corners: North Augusta vs Haymakers 7pm, Westport vs A’s 9pm

Game 3 (if necessary, the following Tuesday August 23rd, top seed hosts)

The 2nd round to begin Thursday August 25th barring no rainouts.

Lyn hosting lowest seeded of the remaining 3 teams.
