Los Caballos win in Fitzroy

Los Caballos are the Fitzroy Harbour Men's Fastball tournament A champions, winning Sunday afternoon by a score of 5-1 over Harbour Ball league team Bren Electric.
The game was tied 1-1 until the bottom of the sixth when the Los Caballos put up four runs. Matt McKay got the win in relief of Will Lowe. Gabe Brown took the loss in relief of Noah Fleurie.
Bren had defeated Hicks Custom Interiors in the semi-final while Los Caballos got by the Campbell Contracting Logsplitters. Both teams losing in the semis were FHMFL teams.
The B championship game featured Baird Carpentry (Harbour Ball league team) who slugged out a 15-8 win over the Amherstview Athletics U17 team. Jeff Campbell and Ethan Howard threw for Baird. Howard also hit a grand slam in this one.
B semis saw Conner Hopper hit a walk off homer for Baird to defeat Carlsbad while the Athletics got by the Wizards in the other game.
Other teams participating that didn't advance to Sunday include league teams Ottawa Valley Coffee, Clean Cut Construction, Grandor Farms plus Napanee Express U17.
Harbour Ball commissioner Brendan Coker put on a great 12-team event and Fitzroy Harbour Community Association President Karen Taylor and her husband Simon put on a fantastic beer garden all weekend.
