WC Electric win one, lose two at Elims
West Carleton Electric Men's U20 team won one game and lost two at the Ontario Amateur Softball Association Eliminations in Drumbo this past weekend.
The tournament determines the three teams from Ontario that will join WC as host at the 2026 U20 Men's Canadian Championship in Carp from August 4 to 9.
The Electric lost to the host Plattsville Lightning by a score of 9-1 in the opener on Friday night. Sean Demarest had the win while Kaden Fowler took the loss with relief from Carter Marshall.
In the next game WC defeated Southeastern Ontario Screaming Eagles 9-1. Marshall earned the win and Dan Read was tagged with the loss. Colton Lecuyer hit a home run for the Electric.
The third game was decided in eight innings as the St. George Aces got by West Carleton 8-7. The Aces got out to a 6-1 lead after the first inning, but the Electric battled back to tie things, only to lose in the bottom of the extra frame. Marshall took the loss in relief of Fowler. Nate Wylie had the win in relief of Easton de Belleval. Finn Barton had a homer for West Carleton
The Electric will play a Consolation Round game on Sunday at 11 a.m. versus the Screaming Eagles.
Plattsville (undefeated), Chatsworth, St. George and Elmira remain in contention for the title.
