Twins win game one of GOFL finals
The Micksburg Twins won game one of the Greater Ottawa Fastball League playoff best-of-three final series with a 2-0 victory over the Pontiac Flyers in Shawville on Monday night.
There were about 60 fans in attendance on an evening where it was 6°C (feels like 2°C).
Joran Graham threw a no hitter for the win, striking out 15, walking one and hitting two batters.
Drew Hathway took the loss, with no earned runs, five hits, one walk and striking out 13.
The Twins scored both their runs in the second inning. Matt McIntyre singled to lead things off followed by a Jared Steege walk. After a strikeout, John Enright bunted and it was misplayed allowing McIntyre to score and advancing Steege to third. Paul Griffith's ground out scored Steege to make it 2-0.
Other Twins hits in the game were by Graham, Enright, Joe Mick, and Jason McIntyre.
Game two is scheduled for Thursday night in Micksburg at 8 p.m.
