WC U20 loses opener at Elims
West Carleton Electric lost a tight game on Friday night at the Ontario Amateur Softball Association U20 Eliminations in Chepstow, falling 3-2 to Chatsworth in 8 innings.
Joe Weiler had the win in one inning of relief of Dakota McComb. Gabe Brown took the loss.
WC scored first in the second inning. Kaden Fowler singled and scored on Alex Strathern's double.
Chatsworth evened things up at one on Alex McGillvray solo shot.
The game was tied 1-1 after seven innings.
McGillvray homered again in the top of the eighth, scored the runner on base for the tiebreaker rule.
WC got one back in the eight on a Finn Barton ground out RBI, but fell short and lost 3-2.
Next up for WC is a game against Southeastern Ontario Screaming Eagles at 11 a.m.
