Bradley, Hargrove duel as Stittsville and Orleans play to scoreless draw
from Sam Oliver
The 56ers made their first visit to Orleans on Thursday night and came away with a point as Dan Bradley dueled Chad Hargrove to 0 – 0 tie. Bradley pitched the complete game, not allowing a run, while giving up only 1 hit and 3 BB while striking out 12. The lone hit came off the bat of Max Serre who doubled in the 5th.
Hargrove matched Bradley inning for inning, not allowing a run through seven complete innings, giving up only 3 hits, while allowing 3 walks and striking out 13. Stittsville threatened in the top half of the 5th. Dan Bradley led off with a single, and with one out out, Scott Herriot slapped a single of his own into right field. Both runners moved up a base on a Hargrove wild pitch, but the young pitcher was able to maintain his focus and escape without any damage as he struck out the next two 56er batters.
Darren Featherstone had the other hit for the 56ers, an infield single in the first inning.
