Easton defeats Orleans 7-1

Easton playing their 4th game in 4 nights came away with a 7-1 win over the Orleans Gators. Easton opened the scoring in the top of the 1st as Dave Tubman walked and was sacrificed to second by Pat O'Connor, Todd Fraser followed that up with a single to score Tubman then Randy Peck launched a 2-Run shot deep over the right center field fence to put Easton up 3-0 with 1 out. Cory Morrison followed the home run with a single and moved to second on a wild pitch. Dan Konkle then singled to score Morrison. Lukas Kamps singled and Scott Marion walked to load the bases but the Orleans pitcher Nick Bowman was able to get Kyle Olson to hit into a force play erasing Konkle at home plate then Dave Tubman who led the inning off, grounded out to second base.

Easton added to their lead in the 2nd by virtue of another homerun off the bat of Randy Peck.

Up 5-0 heading into the 4th Easton would add another as Tubman singled with 1 out and advanced to second on a wild pitch, Pat O'connor then singled to drive in Tubman. Scott Searle (playing his first game in 8 years and sporting a some swankly new ball pants) stepped to the plate and ripped a single to center to put runners on 1st and 2nd however Cory Akerton who replaced the Orleans starter was able to get Randy Peck to hit into a fielder's choice and then struck out Cory Morrison to end the inning.

Orleans got on the board in the bottom half of the 5th with a single run off Kyle Olson who replaced Dan Konkle after three innings.

Easton rounded out he scoring in their half of the 5th on an Rbi triple by Kyle Olson that scored Scott Marion who had reached base on a fielder's choice. Olson was able to shut the door in the bottom half of the inning and Orleans submitted to the mercy rule.
